Exhibition | Textile Mood

Grand Hall Atrium

The Textile Mood exhibition gathers a set of works from Textile Art students (ESELx - Portugal) and Fiber art students (Slippery Rock University - USA).

The works resulted from a common proposal, to make textile essays that, using techniques, materials and processes inherent to textile making (weaving, cutting, fringing, sewing, gathering different materials, ...) would be able to express different moods: imprisonment, anguish, isolation, liberation, transgression, irony, change and transformation.

The results of this experimental approach show different appropriations of textile language and individualized poetics, exposing contemporary perspectives upon materials and techniques associated with a subaltern handicraft manner.
